Project Summary
This state of the art facility supports the direction of patient treatment to the highest level of psychiatric care for the central region of North Carolina. This psychiatric hospital complex consist of a 460,000 sf psychiatric facility, 10,000 sf central energy plant, and 16,000 sf of landscape building. The new facility is a three story structure with a shallow spread footing foundation system. The psychiatric facility consists of a steel moment frame structure and load bearing masonry wall, pre-cast core slab floors, metal wall panels, brick and curtain wall facade, modified bitumen roof, aluminum composite roof, and monolithic membrane roofing. The central plant consists of load bearing masonry walls, and the landscape building consists of a pre-engineered metal structure. The major P.M.E. Systems include plumbing systems, medical gas piping, outdoor cooling towers and water chillers, pneumatic tube system, electrical including nurse call, fire alarm, security, and paging systems.
